OK 2 (North)

Highway History:
At one time, the two OK 2's were connected. From the northern terminus of today's southern OK 2 at U.S. 64 in Warner, OK 2 was duplexed with U.S. 64 to Muskogee, where it then shared a short stint with U.S. 62 in downtown Muskogee before heading north with U.S. 69. From that point, OK 2 duplexed with U.S. 69 to Vinita, where the northern OK 2 begins today. OK 2 was split sometime between 1953 and 1969 due to the long duplex between Warner and Vinita.

Highway Review:
The northern OK 2 lasts just 17 miles throughout central Craig County in northeast Oklahoma. It connects U.S. 60/69 in Vinita with OK 25 and U.S. 59/OK 10 in Welch. Most maps and even signs at the northern terminus indicate that OK 2 continues north along U.S. 59, but OK 2 is not signed in either direction between U.S. 59/OK 10 and the Kansas State Line.
