Highway History:
OK 38 was once signed along a different route than it is today. Back in 1953, OK 38 ran along present OK 45 from OK 58 to Carrier, then current OK 132 from Carrier south to what was U.S. 60/OK 15 (today is is U.S. 60/U.S. 412), where the highway ended.

Highway Review:
OK 38 connects U.S. 64 in Jet to OK 11. The highway is the main road to the Great Salt Plains State Park.

	South OK 38 assurance shield just south of OK 11. The highway has several twists and turns to bypass the Great Salt Plains Lake. Which is not to be confused with the Great Salt Lake in western Utah! (Photo taken 7/18/03)
