Highway Review:
U.S. 77 begins another duplex with Interstate 35 back at Exit 141, and it exits off again at Exit 153, as it heads towards Guthrie, (pop. 9,925) the first capital of Oklahoma. Until a couple years ago, access was only available from northbound I-35 to northbound U.S. 77, and from southbound U.S. 77 to southbound I-35, but now this is a full-access interchange.

Interstate 35 now travels its way through farm country as it heads towards Kansas. Exit 174 provides access to Stillwater and Oklahoma State University via a 16-mile drive east on OK 51, a 4-lane at-grade divided highway which carries a 65 mph speed limit.

Exits 194A-B provide access to U.S. 412 and the Cimarron Turnpike, which heads east towards Tulsa, and U.S. 64/412 West, heading towards Enid, Woodward, and other places in northwest Oklahoma.

Exit 211 (Fountain Rd.) has a trucking company with an upside-down truck adjacent to the highway that says "We Fix Trucks." Exit 214 (U.S. 60) provides access to Ponca City via the U.S. highway which is 4-lane at-grade divided highway with a 70 mph speed limit east of this exit.

Exit 222 (OK 11) contains the last fast-food places and major chain hotel you'll see on Interstate 35 before entering Kansas. Two exits follow OK 11, Exit 230 (Braman Rd.) and Exit 231 (U.S. 177), and then at mile marker 235, you're on the Kansas Turnpike. Don't worry, you can still exit off the highway at Exit 4 (U.S. 166) and not have to pay toll, but after that, you've got to pay toll, which is $4.75 during Interstate 35's 127 miles on the toll road.
